I am wanting to try my SD2200d on a saltwater beach. I have a choice between useing the 11" DD coil or the 11" mono. Which one would perform the best on the wet sand of a saltwater beach and why? Or is there a coil available that would work better than either of the above.

Hi Mark,
Coils for the SD series used to give problems when used near or in water. The sealing was not adequate in many cases, resulting in water getting into the coil and affecting its performance adversly. It may be that the coils made by Coiltek are much better in this respect. It is certainly worth getting in touch with them and asking the question.
The standard fully enclosed type of coil that is standard with the SD
