my dust cover for se is due here in a couple of days.it was backordered.since i have'nt seen one, would like to hear from a few of you guys.--do you use them all the time???and do they help??thanks a lot..:minelab::)

Hi ellis
I use mine in the wet weather only.
I do carry a 2" soft paint brush to dust off the control box if needed. Have never scratched the screen this way.

I wouldn't detect w/o the cover, even though the control box seems 'sealed'. I've cleaned considerable dirt off the cover several times already. The only downside - it makes the already hard-to-see screen, harder to see. I have the 'Contrast' maxed out at 10. I'd use the backlight, except it's a drain on the batteries - and probably wouldn't help anyway in the sunlight.

This way it keeps the screen in good condition and you don't have to worry about water getting into the Control Box. The only down side to this is that occasionally, it is a bit hard to see the screen due to the glare from the cover but I make due. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

I use mine all the time although it can be a real pain to see due to glare or even dust. I just don't want moisture or scratches.
