SE problem....darn bubble buttons.

Well unfortunately I think my SE Pro is broken. I'm having button problems and the unit is only one year old.
First the Iron Mask button started acting up. Sometime one push and it cycles through the IM screen and back to Smartfind. Sometimes it takes several hard pushes to do anything at all.

Now the menu button is acting up too. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it takes several try's to work, and just now it wouldn't work at all. Put the detector aside for a few minutes then now the menu button is working again.

I wonder if a factory re-set would help. I can't remember how to do one......anyone know how?

Thanks,

Dave

i cant remember, you either take the battery out while it is on, or you press and hold the power button for a few seconds

For a reset, turn off the machine, then press and hold the power on button for a few seconds. It will boot up in the factory preset mode. I too have trouble with the push buttons on my SE, I like the XS buttons better.

very strange? try to check it again without rain cover, if its springs back clean and responsive it should work if its not you will have to change control panel top with all the switches. but I tend to believe it should work.

.
Rain cover off those two buttons still don't work well.......sometimes not at all.
It's a short hunting season here in Ontario Canada, only about 6 1/2 months, so if I send it in it is at least a month + down the tubes.
But I guess I have no choice.

My proposal -don't send if season short, I hunt all the time with my xs all metal -14 just thin black line and just some times use menu for volume, volume problem you can regulate by headphones, and after season send it to repair,no need all the time to go to menu. good luck
