SE to SE Pro Switch?

Has anyone made the switch from the SE to the SE Pro?

Beside the new coil, what are the other improvements? ie. Faster Recovery Time, Easier to Read Screen, Better target discrimination?

Hi Duke, I can assure you there is no difference other than a newly designed coil. I have not used a PRO but did put the new coil on my SE and it works very well for me. I queried both the Vegas bunch and Australia office and they told me there are no changes besides the coil. I am an authorized dealer for them. Happy hunting Duke!

Thanks John! Do you think there's less falsing and you can run at a higher sensitivity with the Pro coil?

I don't know about the SE, but on my XS I usually couldn't get my sens above 19, sometimes I could hit 21. Now with the new PRO coil I run it around 24-26 in parks, and sometimes as high as 28.

Yes, I do feel it was. I made a post on another forum about a number of wheats that I was digging the other day that I measured to be 10.5" of true ground depth not including the grass between the ground and the coil. And these were not iffy type hits, they were sure fire hits that I knew exactly what i was digging. I found 12 silver at that site the other day and was just in awe of what the explorer was finding that day.

Hi Duke, I'm sorry I didn't get to your question on the new SE coil. Actually I can run the sens. quite high where I am located. I haven't noticed any falsing with the new 11" coil so far. It seems to be very stable and hits harder. But as you know be careful of masking on this large a coil. I am running the sens.from 18 to 22 normally but I can go to 28 with either SE coil. That is really too high though and I think down around 18 is ok. Ok Duke happy hunting to you!

I just bought a Pro, I have been using my buddies SE as his has a SunRay probe. He loves my Pro and says it is much lighter than his SE. But again I don't have the probe on mine yet. But I am going to order a SunRay this week.

Hi Duke, one of the problems with large coils is they take in a larger volume of ground and most always there are several targets under the coil at one time. If you have a dime especially at depth and there is a nail or some foil along with the dime you will see the trash instead of the dime more than likely. So it can cause you to miss the dime which is what you want in the first place. The way to get around this is use as small a coil you can without losing too much depth. I use the SunRay X-5 5.5" coil on my SE and this coil is an excellent compliment to the Explorer! I'm not very good at explaining things so someone else might want to chime in to help you Duke. Ok happy hunting to you.

I have the 5" eXcelerator coil. It does well. What I want to do now is get a stable mid-size coil for the SE. I'm sick of the falsing and lack of sensitivity on the stock coil.
