SE vs. X2?

Ok so i have been reading a lot about the success of the SE and i'm wondering what the biggest advantages/diadvanatges are over the Ex2. I took about a year off since the birth of my son but am itching to get back at it again and have found some sights that look to hold some promise. I'm curious though about all the success guys like DFx Greg and others have been having with the SE. Is there that big of a difference between the X2 and the SE?

Other than what you read in the manual and advertised upgrades. The SE and XSII are pretty much the same machine.
The upgrade would be a personal preference.

yea besides what bob mentioned there is also about 500 dollar difference to consider as someone else pointed out

Yeah i think i'll keep my $500 and continue to pull out the goodies with my Ex2.

People talk about the XS2 and SE having faster response - I guess they probably do. I will upgrade when my XS dies, and from the looks of it - I won't be upgrading anytime soon.

Yep, I traded straight across the board for the slimline coil for my Explorer 2. Seems some of the SE owners prefer the older 2 coil. It was said that the first SE's have a falsing problem with the slimline coil. According to Minelab that problem was fixed with the later coils. I sure like the slimline on my Explorer 2. It's lighter, better balance and feels like I have a new machine. Also after use, I see no difference in the depth of search.
