Sea Hunter Mark 2 , good for Maui waters?

Maui Mike

New member
I'm getting closer to deciding which UMD to go with... Would the Garrett Sea Hunter Mark 2 do well in Maui waters? I plan to do most of my hunting snorkeling and a bit of diving too. Tourists or should i say" Visitors" seem to make many deposits here in the water before they leave. And it would not take long i bet to get my wife Hooked on this sport if i do well. :twodetecting:

I can't help with your MD decision but if you need help searching the waters, please feel free to send me an airline ticket.

Maui Mike,

I've heard that VLFs don't work well in Hawaii due to volcanic hot rocks. Most posts I've seen have the majority using pulse (PI) detectors because of the hot rock issue.

The Garrett water machines are built like tanks and have very solid reputations behind them!

I would check with the local clubs and stores in your area to see what everyone is using there!

Good luck with whatever machine you choose!!!:clapping:

A big thank-you to all of you... i really value all your in-put:clap:
