Sealing the coil cover

Has anyone used marine sealant to seal the coil cover to prevent water and debris getting in?

Looks like no one seals their coil cover.

I've in the past used a fine bead of silicone to seal the coil cover on other brands.
I haven't done this with the Deus because see any advantage to it.
The cover on mine pops off easily to clean.
I pop it off about every ten or so hunts any give it a good rinse and I'm good to go.

I usually use silicone to seal my coil covers but i bought my Deus u used and the previous owner had used it without the coil cover on for some reason so i didn't on my 9" coil. I normally would tho to seal out the dust and water. HH
