finally got a hankering to get out and dig. been almost a year hiatus, which is forever in my eyes. I'm no fan of the heat and up in Washington I'm considered a puss cause it doesn't get all that hot. so I took the summer off and will enjoy the fall and winter since we have mild ones around here. I decided to hit a local park just down the road from where I live, and have found quite a few silver rings over my years digging there. today I decided to concentrate on a little slope off the beating path. I've swung this land before but not with too much intrest. started getting deep targets and was finding lots of nickels, dimes and pennies in the early 60s date range. that got me excited for silver. I'm hoping to find some in future hunts but none yet. well I had a hit in the low 50s range with the at pro and figured, nickel. missed it in the plug, so had to explore further in the side of it and out popped a ring!!! immediately I knew what I had found. at first glance I thought the stones were sapphires, but upon further cleaning, turns out there are 6 diamonds, two missing, and three sapphires! ring stamped 18k with makers mark unyet identified. a guy was watching me and came over. he said " I've found over 30 gold rings" in my years digging! now that's a accomplishment I said. some people have all the luck, today was my lucky day though. reading thie stories on this site and all of you guys, keep posting your finds! it got me out of my slump, and back out in the field! thank you for that, and keep up the good work! oh and I am going back to sift the dirt and find those missing stones today!
