Second Tesoro surprise for 2017??

Ivan

Anyone hear of a second new detector from Tesoro this year? I like the Mojave seems like a nice basic offering........but I'm hoping for a new more advanced model. Maybe by summer...............Tesoro has got a bit of momentum now......be nice if they did an Encore.............Encore!!! That might be a good name for a detector...................LOL.

Yes it would Be. Heck just a 4 Tone I.D. Mode added to the Vaquero would Have People Jumping for Joy. And they would sell like Hot Cakes if You are Reading this Tesoro.

I don't think this is the year to bring out a higher cost consumer product, let alone a detector. Things have been downhill in this country for the last few years and won't be fixed for a while.

I think this will be it for a while. I don't think it has anything to do with the state of the country, but more like the state of their engineering team. I think the success of the Mojave will raise capital to allow further development.

While common sense tells me you are probably correct about this... I am still hopeful of a higher end detector as well. Nevertheless, I see a Mojave in my future, and perhaps a Vaquero as well.

If they do I'll be happy. If they don't I'll be happy.
I love my Tesoros.

I predict a rise in gold rings and old coins in trashy, iron laden areas and many people saying Jack was right-no need for the features that cause most to not retrieve valuables because they believe the ID features.:smoke:

The Mojave was probably all about the state of the country if you think about it.

I would happily hunt behind someone with a newer digital machines.
Heck, I have and like my Turkish machines, but I use the info on screen as more of a variable then a decision maker. Tesoro taught me to go by audio than anything so it works for me. But u think a new detectorist getting a new machine might hurt more than they think it helps. It's easy to go for the machine with the most "features" but without a solid base knowledge without all that, it can hurt them in their findings.
I consider my compadre as my first and favorite machine so far even though I had the ace 350 first. I found that the ace was hurting me on my decision making. Plus the audio doesn't change with depth and size on that rig. The first day I had my compadre was my last day with the ace.
Sure I dug more right off the bat, but I also found more.

I'll happily follow behind someone with a "fancier " machine even with the compadre if the ground allows.

In the end it's all personal preference and what you feel most comfortable with.
I'm not saying I'll never use anything but Tesoro, but I truly believe Tesoro will always have a place with me and my stable of detectors.
I also believe there's no better first machine that the compadre if the ground allows it and now the Mojave if the finances allow it. But you can't go wrong with $160 for the compadre if your ground allows it to run. That thing still amazes me.

I think you hit it right on the nose.

I agree, even though I have two of the "fancy machines". We all know the best way to hunt is to dig everything and if you do that you will get more than anyone. It just takes a little longer. Someday I'm going to run my Vaquero behind my V3i just to see how that comes out.

Nah, we don't all know that.

There are a lot of variables, I don't know that there is a best way.

Comes down to personal preference and relevance to the site.

If anyone finds the best way, let me know :)

Who is the engineer at Tesoro.........................do they have one or do they just farm it out???

Dig it all pretty well guarantees finding pretty much everything and anything, but takes a lot of faith and dedication in trashy areas.

In the three towns I search, years of continuously digging at least with low foil discrimination, has led to most trash being recovered. That is the only upside of doing beep/dig. If I recover 8 tabs, I at least know people have been there. At new areas, I absolutely love my MX5 w/8 tones. If few tab tones with lots of bling, the Compadre comes out next trip!

Outsourcing engineering is a really good idea. Maybe a couple of the top engineers could make a little spending money on the side. Lol!

I'll trade a Troy Shadow X2 for a Bandido 2 umax!
