Second trip to trashy park F75 Fisher

Second piece of Silver.....When I say trashy I mean unbelievable trash.......3- 4 Pull Tabs are in every dig..No exaggeration (Fact) yet the speed of recovery lets you hear the good targets..6 " coil............You can swing over area, hear the good sound (HIGH) 3H used 45 Sens..FP to much power it gets erratic... Then you can actually pinpoint the target next to the trash......The penny signals, and dimes, are deeper but it takes a little work to isolate the location..I got smarter read the feo and if coin present it went up if all trash it stayed the same..Consistency meter all over the place and never did go high unless coin was in hole by it's .self. When hitting the Silver once again the machine id was correct, and it made a better sound over the Silver..Can not explain it just sounds more solid..Out popped a 1921 Mercury..Yesterdays was a 1924.No Indians yet.But they are there...I found a couple with a different detector..but could not hunt as well as this F75 does in the trash. I want to stress one more time..It is a pleasure swinging this F75........You do not get tired....I did ground balance a lot and don't know if I would have had to or not..But every time I cleaned out pull tabs and other crap I hit Fast grab and it changed from 71 76 and once 85.............It says in the manual I can run 90 ( Preset) if using disc mode, but it's so easy to ground balance you just do it. I also noticed when you pinpoint if target is large it has a bigger sound spread so you know it's aluminum or something larger.........And the consistency meter will not confirm it's a good id target..pretty neat indeed. Now are you ready for the kicker?..This technically isn't my machine. I traded this beauty to my Uncle for a new DFX....I did not like this the one and only time I tried it. I borrowed it and learned how to run it and am kicking myself.........He will not trade me back, but said I can use it anytime I want....LOL
Looks Like I may be spending more money..I wonder if they all work as well as this one does???? I thought about offering to get him a new one. and keeping this one. But he will not do that either.... said the new one might not be as good. LOL

WYG XLT!

Can you clarify why kind of coin would change the FeO meter? Did the silver coins read in with high numbers in a tight group?

XLT User Congratulations on the silver. You might want to try tones 4 and dig the top 2 tones to get the Indianheads.I noticed a good spread on Indianheads on ID numbers.Bill

thanks for the information!..will try to apply it when i get mine!..it will make the learning curve hunting in trash a little shorter i hope!

i'd like to know that too!..can you "pick" out that 80 "hit" when targets are grouped right next to each other?..is the processor "quick" enough ?..thanks!

Fast grabbing alot is the way to go. And yes the 75 is what all else is measured by once you understand it. Its not that hard. People are just not used to the speed and target separation.

I was trying to watch all the things on the machine. Consistancy meter, and feo meter... When a coin was in the trash the consistancy meter would go up a couple bars only. When just a coin was under the coil consistancy meter pegged out to the top. If pulltabs were in the "Hole" with the high reading ID and the lower reading Id as you swung the coil feo went up a number or two...It is so fast you can actually watch the Id numbers change as you hit each piece under the coil...Now I am not saying it did this every time because truthfully I didn't dig some of the targets when it hit on the lower numbers...and I couldn't get the high Id to isolate..But when I did it id'd proper on the coin. The Feo would go up, and the consistancy meter would go up for just a second or two, and then drop down because the machine is so fast it read all targets..When a coin only in hole no matter what coin..consistancy meter went to top Id locked on.Both times I hit Silver in two day hunt it rang out more solid on the Silver. You will have to experience that sound difference to know what I mean..It's just different..more solid or something. Maybe louder hit..can't explain it.But when I hit the second Merc on second trip I knew the difference in Silver hit due to change in sound or something...I can't say i knew it was the dime I dug..just that it was a different sounding hit...sounded like the prior Silver hit of day before and it was another Silver dime..I would think maybe other things could make it do that but this time it was Silver... You can bet I will dig all those better hits..

If using Disc mode you can hunt in Pre set GB.. which is 90 and still hear the targets..I did not do it..GB is so easy to do you just do it...

You have to really listen and then you watch the Id and you get the higher number..But it's only for a split second..I didn't dig some of them unless I could isolate it where I got the good tone and ID a couple times on different angles of swinging..It's hard to describe..

Of the advertised speed of recovery I wanted to try it..It worked better than I would have thought..or Hoped for...You could not use a big coil either, or run sens up high for deeper targets..Even the F75 could not handle that..I tried preset on all and it was just a bunch of noise and erratic sounds..Sens has to be turned down to get the sounds and Id's....So I am not trying to be a hot shot here and say WOW the perfect machine..It's not..but with some work you can hunt pretty darn good at sites you could not work before....I think the recovery speed is the secret..........You hear the targets that other machines just can't read because of masking by the bad targets....I am sure I missed some coins if junk was on top of it..My point is I found some coins I could not have found with other detectors because it's so fast on the recovery....You can take a coin hold it in your hand sweep under the coil and it hits as fast as you can swing..Try it..That i think is why it works so well.

XLT your just at the beginning of what the can do. In all honesty sometimes reducing the sens can provide more depth. There are times where i hit coin targets at 16 inches in DE mode and wouldn't dig it because of where i was. Most of my good finds have been with other targets in the same plugs or close by. Yes a silver coin has a nice sharp, short "blip" signal. They hold the same tone when deep just not as loud. 4H brings the nickles in but you will dig a truck load of tabs per nickle. It is true that when standing in one spot and making a wide swing you can hear alot of signals in one sweep, without moving a step you go back over them one by one and pick them out. I unplugged my headphones once so my buddy could hear the 75 how i have it setup. He asked how the hell can you know whats good and pick it out? I showed him, and along with the many good finds and the depth/target separation he witnessed he is now getting a 75.

I have been doing some in depth testing with the different modes and setting with different targets. What I'm finding out now is that coin hunting in a park with the 75 is just the beginning of what this amazing machine is capable of. As my post above i am heading to the beach in search of harsh mineralization "wet salt sand" to test some things out. The only things i wish the 75 had at the moment would be a 10 1/4 inch round concentric coil and the ability to silence out selected tones without notching or discrimination. IE the detector still picks up the targets but you can turn the tone of that target off.

make the correction.................Sorry !!! But hey it's still Silver... Two 24's....one each day..I WILL TAKE IT !!!

or three inches of 53 ( Pulltab readings..Or at least thats what was mixed in the mess when I dug it..But there was a penny either copper or a Wheat cent just about every time..once there was a piece of balled up melted aluminum. It still hit 61 when out of the ground..I think any other machine would have hit it also I just forgot to raise coil up and see if I still got a signal...So I dug it...
