Hello Seeky!
Don't waste too much time 'looking' for answerers, because they could add to your confusion.
I have been detecting now for almost 40 years, and I say the T2 is the most efficient unit I've ever used, INLAND.
Its virtues far out-weigh its minor (circumstantial) weakness ...interference pick-up, in the 'wrong' locations.
(All detectors suffer the same effect in varying degrees)
So I offer my humble advice.
If you hunt on the inland scene, then go out and purchase a Teknetics T2 NOW....
Read the manual and go through ALL the 'book' adjustments to realise just how straightforward they are.
(This super detector is a NO 'BRAINER')
Realise how and what to do to achieve YOUR preferences.
A..(Motion discim.searching, or All metal)
B..(Your preferred choice of tones..suggest 2+ as a starter)
After a days playing with it, choose your tone set. 1, 2, 3 etc
Leave DISCRIM at 10, SENSE at 70, Pump coil for GROUND BALANCE.
THAT'S IT !!!!!!!
AND GO OUT AND DIG EVERYTHING for a day. (Including ONE WAY signals, as long as it is persistent)
Learn its sounds (Take you all of half an hour), and then just swing that thing at about 1 metre per second (NOT TOO SLOWLY THOUGH) whilst searching....only a little slower maybe, once you've found a target.
The end results should then be evident in your targets total.
NO..not just Mercs and Dimes...but rather EVERY piece of non-ferrous that you recover. (Unless you're relic hunting in which case you will be digging the 'iron' targets as well)
Don't wait Seeky....Enjoy the discovery of the hottest dollar for dollar detector out there today.
Here's a promise. If You don't like it, I'll buy it from you.
