Seems a little slow around here.

It's that Quattro that slow, boy. Naw, those are a couple good keepers.
Nate outdid me again today with his DFX... of coarse only on wheats and clad so I don't feel too bad. He found about 11 wheats and I found 4 wheats. We both found a silver rosie. Nate happen to get the best spot at the house we hunted today.

Actually I was talking about the forum being slow. Not many posts. I was out this morning got a 17?? hibernia penny. Its soaking right now I'll post a picture later, hopefully with some more finds, going to go out water hunting this afternoon. When is Nate getting his Explorer II?

Other activities although the longer days are great for getting out after work. Only problem is after 8 pm watch out for those mosquitoes. They have been bad lately here as we have had lots of rain.

Now as for that Explorer .... Back in Ohio I don't think it makes much difference because it is fairly rare to find a site that has stuff much deeper than 6-7 inches. When we go out Nate usually finds more total coins and even more "deep"(4-6") wheat pennies than I do. Maybe it's the age thing. BUT, I did purchase one. It has the Sunray probe on it. Most likely I will be using it and Nate will have the option of using the Quattro. Unless I start digging deep stuff that he cannot get I think he will just stick to the DFX. I will not get it until another two weeks as the doofus tells me he has to wait 10 days for my money order to clear.

We went to a park we have hunted a lot today and thought that maybe I could find some deep stuff that we missed in the past. Nate got what he thought was a good signal pinpointing at 7.5". I checked it and it was jumping around the upper teens to low 20s. I told him it was a pull tab. Since I only had the sensitivity at 14(that is all I could put it up to before it went unstable) it was showing that it was about 10" deep. He dug it and it was a pull tab at about 7". So we both could get about the same depth just the Quattro ID's better.

Let me know how you do with the ExII. Your right about the DFX it can get down there but the ID is more accurate at depth with the Quattro.

I knew what you meant Ratney! I was thinking the same thing there for a while. I did manage to get to the beach and posted my finds on the beach forum, maybe I should've posted it here too! Nice coins! Wouldn't mind finding one of those one day.

Hi Angela
Thats one thing I need to do, is do a little beach hunting. I'm pretty landlocked where I am, It's about a 3-4 hour drive to a the coast so I don't get to beach hunt often. You should definately post those pictures here too. I love seeing those Aussi coins.
