Sef butterfly coil question

Anyone use this coil on the T2 or have any thoughts? Thanks, and good luck hunting. Robert

I have the 6x8 on my Minelab and think the world of it. Great separation and good depth for a small coil. I would think the T2 would be a good fit as well.

I use the SEF12x10 and the SEF 15x12 coil on my T2,the smaller one out of the two is often used as a replacement for the stock coil,it does give very good all round performance, the large SEF is is my main one that i use for deep pasture use this coil is pretty light for its size and is very good for pinpointing.Do these coils go deeper than the stock T2 coil well the answer is yes on both account,by how much i wont quote actual figures as that usually can start disagreement between folks, but what i will say is on both counts you wull notice vital extra depth and certainly with the larger of the 2 on bigger targets a big differance.

The smaller SEF8x6 coil is one i use on my DFX its a really nice coil to use and also could be used as a stock coil replacement, but i must admit my favourite overal coil for the T2 is the NEL Sharpshooter that is one slick coil,i notice you use the Hunter coil on your T2,over here in the UK the Hunter is often seen as not the best coil why i dont have a clue but i have noticed that folks who buy the Hunter coil either sell it on or keep it as a backup coil.

This is my take on some of the T2 coils,i think the stock coil if i am honest is not a good coil as i feel the build quality is bad mainly the coil connector and also i find that as a result of the coil being mounted on the back of the coil to the rod it throws the balance of the detector out,but the SEF coils and the NEL Sharpshooter are centre mounted.

One thing you dont mention is what size coil you are looking at,as they produce a range from the smaller 8x6 right upto a massive gut buster size.

Thanks for the replies. I was trying to decide between the sharpshooter and the 12×10 sef. I have found that sometimes the stock coil doesn't pinpoint too well. Depth is good though. Thanks again and good luck hunting. Robert
