SEF coil for F75, worth the $$$?

Roland58

A search turned up nothing regarding an SEF coil for the F75. What I could find on the net had some conflicting information. Has anyone here used an SEF coil and, if so, what are your impressions? Better depth? Better ID? Not worth the $$$?

Hey Roland. I've been trying to gather some info on the same subject. I love my SEF 6x8 on my White's, but the jury is still out regarding my SEF 10x12 on my Minelab. Interested in finding out how well they work on the Fisher compared to the Biaxial stock coil. Can't believe the SEF would smoke the Biaxial. Good luck on your quest for information. HH. Matt

I have no idea what that meant! It should have read, "If I find out more THAT does NOT GET posted as an answer here, I will POST what I find........thanks for your response." (hate it when I do that!)

I was sent a SEF 12 x 15 coil to test on the F75 LTD. I have only tested it in my test garden so far. It performs about equal to the stock 11" Fisher coil, but is considerably heavier. It does give you better coverage, but that is only positive thing I can say about it. I was not able to test it in really bad (mineralized) soil, so I dont know if it would have an advantage there (not sure why it would). The weight issue was enough for me not to want to get one, once I learned how heavy the were.

Good info, Scully, thank you. Your opinion seems to be the general consensus.
