I'm unloading some Explorer coils in the classified forum and then using the funds to buy .... a Garrett. Why? Seems that silver is getting harder and harder to find in all my usual parks. I got skunked enough times last year that it started taking some of the fun out of detecting. So my plan is that I am going to focus a little harder on finding nickles this year. I don't ever seem to be able to find nickles with my Explorer, just bullets and pull tabs. I'm sure that with practice I'll get better at it. But I used to have a Garrett 1500 and it was awesome on nickles. So, when frustration sets in with the Explorer on nickles I can bust out the 1500 and hopefully pull a few nickles to save the day. Anyone have any tips on finding nickles?
