Sensitivity adjustment question

Where is everyone running the "sensitivity" adjustment at ?
Do you run it in the semi-auto mode, adjusting the numbers as needed, or has the manual mode settings been more productive ??

Hey Bill! I run in max auto all the time. It is my belief that in iron infested areas where I hunt most Man. sense isn't going to see any farther down so why not run smooth. Kinda like looking into the forrest, how long does it take before a clear path is cutoff. Not long!! A small coil may have a bit better case.

I use mine with factory coil around 26+ always in Man mode to get the best depth on the small targets on the beach looking for old shipwreck stuff around 2 feet depth below the sand.
 
I done some in air testing when I first got mine. With manual at 22, a large silver coin would signal about 3 inches deeper than at auto 32. I use manual at all times, I even set it at 14 under cables and still run smooth......and still make finds. I personally have more confidence when using sensitivity in manual.
 
hi mr. bill,
i like to start of with my sens. set low say 18 then start bring it up as i go . i always run in manual if i can because i know its constant and i feel confedent that way. most times when im on the beach i'll have to go into the auto mode because of the changes in the minerials plus wet and dry sand and turn my sens. up till it starts getting unstable. all in all i think its something you have to experiment with as you get more use to the machine.sometimes to much can hurt you as far as falseing. just my opinion.

I was out today on a field that was a no no with my Sov xs2 pro, I was dying to try the explorer to see how it would cope, with the sens between 12 & 15 it was very stable I was delighted I got a tiny bronze door handle at 11 inchs no problem I try and use it the way I have used most of my detectors (stability).

I stopped running mine in semi-auto. I crank it up in manual until it falses and then determine how much falsing I can stand, then hunt. Some beaches here the bad falsing starts at about 12-14, while others I can run it at 26-30 with some singing and it still sounds off on good targets. I would say it's individual preference and the areas you hunt...Nes
