I use this program for bottlecap and nail-infested sites, in 4 kHz many of the caps are completely eliminated, at the expense of small low-conducting targts like can slaw, small gold, etc. This is 95% the same program as "Coop's 4 khz bottlecap program" and there is a Youtube video showing how he sets it up - there appears to be a certain order for setting the parameters. I can hit dimes at 6-7" and quarters from 7-8" quite clearly, and simple change to Reactivity = 2 and Silencer = 0 will give you 1-2" more total depth on coin-sized iffy targets, and especially nickels. I feel that I am missing some small gold items, but the advantage is much of the tiny bits of deep can slaw that 8,12, ans 18 khz seem to pick up (too) well, are eliminated or chopped in 4 kHz. It works for me, but different soil conditions may yield different results!

Coop set his Disc to "20", but I tried this out first and didn't see much difference in overall performance with Disc = 2 vs Disc = 20. Lower disc settings will get you a tad more depth by itself, I wish we could change reactivity by quarter-points (2.25, 2.5, etc) to maximize the depth AND separation of some sites!

How come you have the low end notched the same as your disc?

The smallest cast aluminum bits will sometimes hit these numbers and where I hunt is loaded with that kind of stuff.

Took this for a spin today and my deep targets were sounding nice and clean. I did notice that I had to swing slower. I find this the deepest program i have found so far. I'm taking it for a spin tomorrow at a old school tomorrow

I live in South Carolina and hunt the "Low Country". Is there anyone who has a good and deep program for civil war buttons and other brass?

Any comments on using the #10 Gold Field program as all metal? I have been using it at the beach and like it. It does make a lot of noise and seems to eat battery life faster.
