short hunt this morning -- pair of silvers

Went on a short 2 hour hunt this morning after work, at a small park in town. After finding some clad, I found a section that started producing some older coins. Within the last half hour of the hunt, I found two wheats (1956 D and 1945), and then hit a 1928 S Merc at 3-4". About 10 minutes later, and about 20 feet away, I dug my last target of the day, and at 3-4", a 1927 D Merc!

These are my first two mercs, and third and fourth silvers with my new SE Pro.

Thanks for looking!

Bryce -- it simply amazes me that I have hunted as long as I have (just very occasionally in the past several years, but really, really frequently and persistently over the past 6 months), and had NEVER found a silver coin. But, now, having been hunting with the SE for less than three weeks, I have four of them already! On the other hand, though, that IS why I broke down and bought the Explorer; these Explorers and E-Tracs LOVE silver, and I had seen them in action finding silver too many times...I finally had to get me one! ;)

Everyone, thanks for the kind words. I was amazed today, both times, when I cracked open those hard-baked clay plugs, and saw silver rims staring back at me! The park I hunted was opened in the late 40s; not sure of the history prior to that, but still, I'm more than a bit surprised to have found two late 20s Mercs. I thought I might get lucky with a few wheats, and maybe if REALLY lucky a silver Roosevelt or Washington; wasn't expecting Mercs! Guess you never know. Can't wait to go back to this spot and really work it.
