Had a great week in the old hunted out parks. Dug gold, silver, copper, nickel and a little iron and aluminum !!! Total for the last seven days are: 10 Indian head cents, 1 Shield nickel (1867), 5 V-nickels (1899-1900-1907-1908 & 1912) 7 Buffalo nickles,(1917-1919-1925-1926-1927-1928 & 1929), 1 Jefferson war nickel (1943-P),4 mercury dimes (1916-1917-1920 & 1936), 2 silver Roosevelt dimes (1961 & 1964), 1881 Great Britain penny. Jewelry finds included the 14K wedding band, sterling silver and black onyx ring, copper band and a Bull Durham 14K plated charm.

How do u get all those nickles, man i cant for the life of me get nickels with my XS. How are they ringing up? Man u had a fantastic week! WTG man!

Nickels are funny. I can go weeks without digging any and then I get an "ear" for them and they come in droves!!! They hit like rusted crown caps so you have to dig some trash to get them. The usually hit in the lower right corner of the smart screen. If the depth meter shows the target to be in the 6" or deeper range, I go for them. I hunt in im-16 so I basically hunt wide open with no discrimination.

Those are some really nice finds, dude. Keep up the good work. Do you hunt in any lake areas upstate? I also use a excalibur when i come up north, but not much luck up there in the water. Can you suggest any lakes in monticello area? Thanks.:super:
