:shrug:8 Inch EXcelerator Concentric Searchcoil

Hi,
I am thinking of buying a 8" concentric coil for my Explorer. They seem to be high priced and I never see any used ones...
Does anyone use the 8" concentric coil and does it pinpoint better?
Thanks PaulWV

got to try it out yet. Like you I never saw any used ones but frank had one for a good price. From what I've read on it...it should actually be deeper than the double d in good soil. We'll see when the ground thaws...but I also picked up the new 4 x 7 eliptical coil and need to give it some play time as well.

I bought a used one last Fall and only used it a couple of times. I didn't have trouble pinpointing with the coil. I plan to use it more this Spring if the ground ever thaws out! HH

I have never used to 8 inch coil and don't plan on getting it. When I'm in an area where I can't use my stock coil or the WOT I use the 4x7 - a great coil that picks though the trash just fine. Since I bought the 4x7 I haven't needed to use my 5 inch. Guess I should sell that one.

I Picked up a new one last fall off E Bay for $95 and only was able to do a few test with it before the ground froze. I tried it on the SE I have and the pinpointing was great, the depth seem to be very good too and was surprise at how quiet it ran. I run a pattern with just the top right open to cherry pick a gravel parking lot of a old school and found the other coils were noise here, but the 8 inch Concentric was quiet and I could swing the coil faster then before with the other coils. When spring rolls around I will be able to get out more with it, but what I see so far is very good.
