Sidewalk Tearout Nets Crusty Indian

Sridge

New member
Discovered a sidewalk tearout in my hometown. So did a couple of other hunters. I was able to find this 186? Indian before having to leave. The place was so loaded with iron that I had to hunt all metal with ferrous tones. I'm going to go back tomorrow and see if I can find anything else. The other hunters also found an Indian each.

Matter of timing and permission to hunt same is always a problem....Always remember asking permission at a large sidewalk replacement and being turned down by the foreman so I followed the trucks and saw where they illegaly dumped the dirt and debris and found two seated dimes and a large cent. For those that don't know a professional replacement they take dirt out and replace with an ash for proper drainage. So might keep this in mind if ever not granted permission..

Nice one - from the corrosion I would guess it's a copper-nickel Indian ("fatty")?

It's not a "fatty". I wish it was! Soaking it in olive oil and see if that does anything.
