Went out this afternoon for a few hours at an old sports complex. Its got a football field, 5 baseball diamonds, a little totlot and a concession stand. It is seldom used except for peewee football and a few baseball games in the summer, but not what you'd call a heavy use area. Its nice and quiet though, and I usually have the place all to myself. Its fun to hunt because theres areas with lots of trash, and clean areas in the outfields, so a guy doesn't get too worn out hunting trash all the time, or too bored hunting sparse signals. Theres lots of beavertails there too, its old enough to have some silver, its really close to home, I got my job done early, the sun was out, the ground was damp, so I went! The bleachers are small enough and light enough to move, which is nice. I got several spills with multiple quarters in each, those multidenominational spills can give a real squirrely signal, and its hard to identify and pinpoint in the mess, by stabbing around with the screwdriver, working from the outside in, you can clean them up. There were several piles of sunflower seeds, where somebody sat and watched a game off to the side, and I picked up some more clad in those periphery locations, along with right at the edge of the parking area. I swept the main field right down the middle, on my way out, its really clean, but what the H, and got that sweet 91 signal which is real close to the 92 signal of a half dollar, it was a two quarter stack. I'm running 88sens, 1 disc, -4 thresh, DP tones, DE mode on the F70 w/11"dd. The only problem with the sens that high is getting up close to the chain link fence, for that I gotta back it off to 50. The disc set at 1 is nice. Deepest target was a Q at a solid 6" the rest were in the 3-4" range or surface. I was really looking for rings, and pulled alot of tabs and foil, a few old shotgun bases, fence wires, that kind of thing. All in all, a nice time on a nice afternoon, hope y'all are doing well!.
