Silver and Indians..Question about deep coin settings...

Hi all, i just got a Minelab SE a couple months ago. I mostly detect beach durring the summer. Once the water is too cold I like to hit parkways and the forest preserves in Chicago. I never liked hunting in parks because of the trash and I could not find a lot of older coins.
Now armed with my new SE I have ventured into some of Chicago's older parks. I have a couple friends that have Explorer II's.
On my first real hunt I scored a 1918D Standing Liberty Quarter and 2 Indians 1899 and 1905 plus 10 wheats. I really like this machine!!
went out yesterday for 6 hours in a park founded in 1869. I got a 1942 merc and another 1899 Indian plus a dozen wheats including a 1910 and 1911s. a silver cross

I only dug coins over 4" and surface dime /quarter signals Most older coins were 4 to 7"

One of the guys with the explorer II got 6 silvers 1877 seated dime,1941 quarter,a merc and 3 rosies.LOL

I was hunting with.
Smart screen
Iron mask Off
sensativity at 26
fast off
deep on
Gain at 7
variability at 10
other one next to variability at 10

Does anyone have other settings that they use, and what is the normal depth deep coins are found at with this machine?
