Silver Coin Drought Ends

I found the world's worst Winged Liberty (Mercury) Dime. It must have been through a fire. You should be able to make out Liberty's chin, the L in Liberty, and part of In God We Trvst.. It also has a D mint mark so I am going to assume it's a 1916 D. The date is obliterated. Also the Sacagawea dollar coin and about a pound of clad coins.

A guy spraying a soccer field for bugs stopped me. He is a fellow detector. We compared some of our sites and some of our successes. He was very pleased with his clad total for the year of about 20-30 bucks. I had about 10 bucks in my pocket for the past 2 hours at the time. I encouraged him to keep practicing and gave him my best advice to find more older stuff which is what he's after. He and I have hunted one park, albeit not together, and he calls it hunted out while I call it a clad and jewelry hot spot. I think he wanted to get together for a hunt this weekend but I'm going out of town and he lives about 30 miles from me anyway. Nice fellow.

Have a great holiday. God bless America.

:rofl:Nice, I haven't found a silver coin since Memorial Day weekend...

My last was May 18th. I was really looking for silver this Spring and did well. Then I got that big gold ring and my sights moved away from silver sites and onto my gold producing locations. Happily I have already passed both my 2007 silver coin total and 2007 gold jewelry total. Still slightly behind in silver jewelry. I am 75 clad coins away from matching what I found in 2007.

Celebrate what is still great about the United States tomorrow!

Chris

Looks like a couple I found that had been in a fire. One was a 1916. That's about all I could make out. I like to think it is a D.
