Silver count down continues

Little brisk starting out this morning, 29 degrees with a nice north wind, but a couple of silver recoveries helped to keep me warm. A 1928 Merc. was my 96th silver coin for the year and then got a 1942 war nickel for # 97...and if the coin has silver in it, I do count it as a silver coin find. Also got 3 wheat cents. Still had the 10" coil on the Omega and g b was 63, sen. 99, disc. 1 and d4 tones. Hope everyone had a great turkey day. HH jim tn

You're doing great Jim!----Looks like you are going to be over 100 silvers by years end. ----------Del

Outstanding work Jim! That silver count is fantastic.. and I love the fact that you don't let a little cold air stop you! Do you get out every week?
Keep the finds comin!

Mick, I hunt for older coins about four hours almost every day, Mon.-Fri. On weekends, I try and stay a little closer to home and play in the tot lots in my neighborhood. Fortunately, we don't see many bitter cold days here in West Tn and the few we do have, I slip my long johns on and go for it. Thanks, and HH jim tn

I needed my long johns again this morning, but had a couple hour window for getting in a short hunt early this morning and hooked up with a fellow club member and we hunted a wooded area of one of our old parks. The woods can only be hunted during the winter months when the tic's are "asleep" and ground cover dies off. My first coin right off was a 42 wheat cent and it was quickly followed by a 64 Rosie. That was my only silver and still need 2 more to hit the century mark. I got 3 other coin type recoveries that are now soaking and will try and get some pictures up later today. One is a child's 1/2 fare token, another is holed and has "good luck" with some additional wording and the last one is dime size and ? maybe Chinese. 10" coil, G B 64-67, sen. 99, disc. 1 and d3 and d4 tones.
