Silver in a Wheat field

Howdy,

We got a really decent amount of rain this week, so now the ground is huntable again. During the week I managed to get permission at a new site, so that's where I headed tonight. This one is going to keep me busy for awhile I can tell. Lots and lots of signals, and I barely covered a small portion of it. Should be more, and should be older stuff hiding. But the trash is the challenge, plus parts have been filled. However, I was finding Wheats very near the surface as well as Mems down deeper, so it's going to be one of those sites...

Anyway, a few doo-dads with some older coins. A compact, a clothespin, Wheats and a Merc. So much more to go though. There really should be some much older coins hiding, so that's the goal.

HH,

Richard Hudnut is a jointly held French and American trademark, created in 1880. It had two main headquarters: one on Fifth Avenue in New York City and another one on the Rue de la Paix in Paris.

Richard Hudnut successfully created 90 different fragrances and a multitude of cosmetics (for example the Du Barry beauty products and the Gemey product line).

Hudnut is a famous trademark because of its longevity (more than a century) and because of its numerous successes on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

The founder was stepfather to Rudolph Valentino's wife, Natacha Rambova.

Nice finds DirtFlipper.

I have a square compact from the same maker but not in as good shape. And just last week found one of the Hollywood Pin Up clothespins! Your soil must be better than Maryland. Your pennies look great, too. Most of my wheaties are in sorry shape.

I enjoy finding those old compacts. I have several of them in all kinds of shape. I always check them ... because back in the day some women put money in them for a phone call when they were going out. Thats a lot of good finds so i look forward to more.

Can't wait to see what else you're going to unearth at your new site, DF!

I wish there would be some rain headed my way. The ground is haaaaard!!! :rage:

Good luck!
