Silver is eluding me

Not really discouraged because I know it will come but lately the silver is eluding me. I have a friend and we have a friendly silver for 2012 competition. I have been clearly in the lead for quite some time but some financial issues and time restraints has kept me from doing a lot of hunting. On Sunday we went to a city park about 15 miles from my house that we have detected before. We were finding lots of clad and hoping for that occasional silver to pop out. Well it showed it's head twice but not to me but my friend :ranting: He managed to pull a 50's quarter and a merc with the SE Pro and I got zilch. That put him one up on me for 2012. At least my clad count was better and I did manage to find this 1952 D Wheat cent.

At least the silvers did not come from an area that I had already hunted with the XT705. I feel very confident that if I had my coil over them that I would have found them instead of him !! The X-terra 705 is still rating way up there in my book. If I did not have physical limitations restricting me then I might swing an E-trac but the X-terra is so light and easy to swing it keeps those expensive thoughts out of my head. I guess I will just have to get it in gear and find some good private residences in town to hunt so I can get my silver title back. I am in a little bit of a slump but expect to bounce back soon !!!

The silver will come again. I am on a silver drought myself with my e-trac. I have not had time to try out the 705 I bought 2 weeks ago.

I usually carry some colored golf tees or poker chips with me. When I hit a target with one detector, before digging it, I mark it and check it with the other detector. In the case of you and your buddy, each of you should mark your target and let the other guy check them with his detector. I think you'll find out that the X-TERRA is fully capable of finding the same targets your buddy has been digging. And you can either prove or disprove that for yourself. With those two detectors..... I agree that its just a matter of putting your coil over them. HH Randy
