silver pendant, wheats 5/25/11

I went back to the spot where I found two silver dimes last Friday, I found a religious (Catholic) pendant which is marked "sterling". It has three sections which slide apart to reveal various religious figures. One side has the miraculous medal, but it also has another insignia which I don't recognize, not being a Catholic. It was not that deep, about four inches. The signal was a definite silver signal, bouncing between the dime and quarter areas. I had a feeling it was silver jewelry, since it wasn't deep enough to be a silver coin. Also found three wheats, 1920, 1939, and 1942. Junk is also included - the spark plug I didn't actually dig, but found it in the grass. Total hunt time 2.5 hours. Kind of warm today, about 82, I was starting to sweat a little. I like those 45 degree days better.

Nice finds - that is a really nice religious pendant. I believe it is for the Immaculate Heart of Mary order. Here's more info on Wikipedia including a picture of some of the same symbols: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immaculate_Heart_of_Mary. Good thing you picked up that spark plug - can you imagine running that thing over with a lawnmower? HH
