Silver Plated Buckle

Found this today. Initial silver plate belt buckle? Is it old?

Hi Virginia,
I'd guess from the style of the letter and the condition of the buckle, that it goes back at least 100 years to the turn of the century, maybe a bit more.
Looks consisistant with jewelry and stuff that I've dug at old homestead sites. Did you dig anything else from the site that might give an indication of the age? When you're digging square nails, bits of old iron farm impliments and horse harness rings, you know you're at the right place and the right depth!

It was the only thing I found so far. Didn't have much time. I was at an old Catholic High School that is no longer in use.
