Silver ring signals with GQSS

Is it just me, or does anyone else find the audio signal from silver rings disproportionately large for the size of the ring.....a bit like an iron based bottlecap, but with a more satisfactory sound.
I can only guess it's due to the good conductive properties of silver <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?"> <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?">

I have developed an 'educated ear' for some items with the Goldquest SS. It is not an educated ear that I would venture to place bets on but it has become a good "guesser' ear. Zinc Lincoln cents are real brash in sound. Deep Iron stay the same no matter where I adjust the delay. Smaller gold items is a sweet smooth sound but large high school rings and college rings really bang away without the sweet smooth sound of smaller gold. US Dimes seem to be a quieter sound and quarters are a bit more smoother than iron....but foil, pulltabs, nickels fool me always ( I am thinking gold). Bottlecaps are harsh. I will consider silver as possibality larger than they are....never considered that or thought that way before....but I will start working on that...Thanks, Frank
