Hey folks!
I've been out of commission lately with a gnarly head cold, and yesterday was the first day in about a week I actually felt human again. So, I decided to do just a couple hours worth of detecting at the silver schoolyard and netted a beautiful 1944 Mercury dime. One of the nicest I've dug. It was down about 7" and gave a nice, clear signal. Also dug a no-date wheatie, '64 Canadian penny and, of course, lots of clad.
Then today, after church, I went out again for about an hour to the same schoolyard, and this time nabbed a 1926 Merc! Nice. I think I like the old, wore out ones better. Much more character. This one was only 4 inches deep and gave a choppy signal, probably from sitting on edge in the ground. This one makes #7 from the silver schoolyard.

Ray
