Since the Silver was released in 2001, has it undergone any modifications, or is the one I buy today new virtually the same as one bought when it was first released? Sorry if this has been answered already. I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for.
 
I don't know of any change to the design. A new one's electronics may be fresher and work a tad better. :shrug:

Tabman is right on getting a new one unless you get a really good deal.
 
Maybe if ya think it needs some tuning other than that, there still the same,
