I have a Silver

don't do it unless your ground is extremly mild, i had one the very first batches that came out and never would lock on targets good the silver will definitly will out hunt the delta in my opinion, the only good things i liked on the delta was the depth meter was deadly acurate and was as light as the silver, now if you stepped up to the gamma 6000 on the other hand now you got something way better machine just as deep as the omega and i think its runs stabler, just my opinion though.

thanks amcjavelin, I was curious if it would be better than my silver umax. my ground is pretty mild here in Illinois and most beep and dig machines work well here.

Joe dirt for the money i dont think you can beat the delta 4000 it has two all metal modes plus disc mode has taget id and target depth and runs on one single 9 volt battery plus adjustable volume and pin point feature to name a few of its features.my brother in law loves his delta and has done very well so far with it and uses his mainly for coin hunting.I own the gamma and the Omega but for the price range the delta falls in to its a great buy but the silver umax is a very nice detector as well.We live in Illinois also his delta and my gamma and omega work excellent in our types of soil...Best of luck to you for either one will serve you well...Markmac

Thanks for the info Markmac. The Delta sounds like it would be a good detector to add to my cz5 and Silver
