is just an invitation to abuse. There's all sorts of mischief to be created, which the admins are going to have to run around chasing. If you were limited to one name change every 6 months and your old name appeared in parenthesis to the right of your new one, I can see some legitimacy to it.

But why should anyone need to change their user name on a daily basis?
