Single tone or multi-tone revisited

I went to a local park to try the monotone and disc 6 setting with my F70. today. I have hunted this park for over 5 years, With a Titan 300xd, Whites MXT, Minelab SE, AT PRO and the Fisher F70. I have been using 4 tones and 0 disc up yo 4 disc settings but tried the monotone and 6 disc setting today. In about an hour and a half I found 8 pennies, one nickle,one quarter and 4 dimes. in an area I have hunted to many times to remember. It seemed like I had hit virgin territory from the moment I started swinging. I can't believe the coins I had missed with the F70 using the 4 tone setting and the 0 masking setup. The monotone and disc 6 setting unmasks non ferrous objects better then any other settings I have used on this detector. I now will use these settings in new areas then go over the area again in the mult- tone settings on the final sweeps. I believe this will really cover a sight about as completely as I can. This park is heavily detected and there has never been any silver coins found here by me, .I have found silver rings and jewelry but no silver coins. The park is to young. Also about how deep where your finds and did you find any of junk that was masking your coins?

I was using m 11 inch coil and had isolated the coins and dug small plugs and only found some small pieces of iron in a couple of the holes. It was amazing how jiggling the coil after getting a good signal and rotating around the coin looking for a consistent sound from the target I was pinpointed perfectly most of the time. The depth of the coins was 4 to 7 inches. I also found a modern button and a modern bullet at about 7 inches.

I tried monotones a few times. I end up with noise fatigue. But I will try it again. Also, it is kind of hard to keep staring at the display to see what all the noises are. Have to be careful not to walk into something like a tree or a hole. I guess I will never understand why the Fishers can unmask better in monotone than multi tone. I've seen some so so explanations that sounded more like gueses than anything else. The most obscure explanation I read said it was a design involving "forward thinking."

It really homes in on the target, and gives enough info on depth without pressing the PP button to determine the proper stab strength required. Nice finds and thanks for the tips and advice Coinseeker!
