Slim pickins today

Tough day at the old park today. 3 hours of detecting and only came home with a crusty 1890 something V-nickel, 1927 Buffalo nickel, one wheat cent and the 10th toy motorcycle I've dug in this park. I have no idea on how old and why these keep turning up. I've also dug dozens of animals (horse, sheep, dog, cows) made of the same material (pewter, lead ?) I thought maybe cracker jack prizes but I've researched the old prizes and have never seen these. They always have some remnants of original paint, usually red or blue. Any ideas ???

Ed, I`m sure that that are highly collectible OLD toy, probably lead. It will be fun running them down as to the age and who made em. HH BTW, I think your finds are neat. Not a bad day at all. Check out the pre WW1 hat device I found today, that was all I came up with, but neat just the same. Not many military items to be found where I live.

nice finds ed v nick and buff good stuff and that toy is cool i had similar toys in the 50,s keep em coming

That motorcycle sure looks like a crackerjack toy. Very nice! I think there is a book about these toys - might be worth buying? Neat finds and HH.

Beats the hell out of my silver rosie and four wheat's. Looks like a good day of detecting to me :detecting: I like finding those lead figures. Nice finds
