small coil

Can anyone recommend the best coil to use for the EX 2 in the grass strip between the sidewalk and street here in the city? There just seems to be so many options regarding brands and coil sizes.The stock coil just isn't gettin' it with all the trash and stuff in such a confined area. Thanks in advance.

Hi Doc; my first choice would be Sun Ray's X5 coil. It's an excellent coil in heavy trash. Other options would be the 8" Minelab FBS 800 (7.25 dia.) or Coiltek's Joey elliptical coil. Hi Doc,
I use the 5 inch Excelerator for situations of extreme trash and also the 8 inch concentric Excelerator/Hothead coil.

And the depth is still superb! You won't believe how much better it separates than the stock coil!
I use it about 80% of the time.

hi doc . i'am a killer with the minelab 8 inch coil. goes real deep! use audio one. fast respone . man sens. zero t hold and coins will ring up all around that trash! clarence

Several options, the 5" would be a great choice. The joey coil being elliptical in nature has great depth, almost as well as the stock coil, with good ability to differentiate close objects, though not quite as well as the x5. next would be the 8" coil which is a great coil.
