Went to my new detecting spot yesterday for the first time and come up with these.Sorry about the pathetic photos. I'm still trying to figure out how to post them.
My youngest son hunted with me for the first 45mins. In that time he snagged our first US dime.He also found the spoon and about 8 other coins. His finds are on the extreme left. After that I took him home and came back and put in 3 hours.
I managed to pull out a total of 88 coins in 3 hours, which also included a US 1 cent and 2 New Zealand 20 cent coins. They are all located in the top left corner.Apart from the usual suspects I also found a class captains badge, which I'll return in the next few days.
The coin value is just over $25, which is about a third the face value of 2 hunts that I had last Christmas, that were both 50 coin days.
This hunt was conducted completely in the bark chip areas and a couple of interesting points to note were, the fact that due to the lack of high value coins, I can assume that this spot has been detected very recently. What was also interesting, is the fact that about a third of all my higher value coins were found very close to metal objects.(They are the 2 rows on the far right.)This is something that the Ace can excel at if you can turn the sensitivity down to 1 or 2 bars. In fact there were 2 coins that I pulled out that I could not pinpoint with using my pocket probe. In these cases, I had the sensitivity turned down to 1 bar for these recoveries.
I had hoped to get out and hunt there today, but house duties got in the way. Oh well, there is always next week.HH.
