thanks eddie went out to local high school with your 01 digital reading in mind found my normal coins but kept my eye out for that 01 you talked about well my next to last dig of the nite was low on the smart screen real low lower then nickles switched to digital 11/01 reading came up so i said here goes eddie this digs for you to my happy surprise out pops a very thin small gold ring i never normaly would have dug this signal i laughed out load right there on the football field and said thatks eddie gotta love this forum and thanks again for the insite eddie i,ll look better at 01,s for now on

Nice going. I've only dug one ring with an 01 reading but I still dig them cause you never know whats going to come out of the hole, Congrats & HH:beers:

Majority of gold rings are worn and lost by women and usually come up in the foil region region of any detector (01-07) on an Explorer with 04 being a must dig as its usually where a thin gold womans ring would come in and many of them have nice stones.06-07 could also be a shield or V nickle as older nickles come in lower than a Jefferson. I certainly understand some areas are loaded with foil, beaver tails and pieces of chopped up cans so expect to dig a lot of junk but those that investigate get the goodies and one nice engagement ring with a nice stone could make up for a lot of dug coins.. Experimented with the ferrous versus the conduct number thin gold ring versus junk and tells me little and still a crap shoot. Would be interested if anyone came up with some way to cut down the odds thru experimentation as I guess we all have our little tricks.

That is super teleman.:clapping: I can't take much credit for your luck of finding that ring cause that 01 reading has been there all the time. At least two of us have found rings at this low of a reading and others have as well I'm sure, but I'll bet some other fellows will start thinking more about digging those very low tones. Good luck to you buddy and I hope you find many more small rings down the road. HH.

Eddie
