Snow Storm fizzled.....First silver of the year !!!

Our predicted 6-10 inches of snow turned out to be a light dusting that was gone by this morning. The poor guys in New Hampshire and Maine got the brunt of it. Hit 2 different parks today. The first gave up a 1926 Mercury dime, 1900 Indian head cent and the buffalo nickel. The merc had to be one of the shallowest I have ever dug. Thought it was just surface clad so I dug a small plug about 3 inches deep. As soon as I dropped the plug next to the hole I could see silver in the bottom of the plug. Most silver in this park is at least 6-7 inches deep. Why this one was only 3 is a mystery. I had the itch to get out again this afternoon so I headed to the same park I've been hitting for some Buffalo nickels and Indian head cents. There I dug the 1906 Barber dime in a spot I've been over dozens of times. This one gave off a no-brainer upper right corner hit in smart screen and was 3/4 down the depth meter. No idea how I could have missed this one before. Nice to get the first silver of the year. Hopefully get some more tomorrow.
