We found some really cool items, including a 16 guage pin-fire cartridge base; a few 1800's coins and lots of other "could have beens."
Including what I think is a solid brass buggy hubcap, and a solid brass oil lamp base, nice old brass key hole plates.
My wife found the solid brass body of a beautiful old padlock too.
I also found a beautiful brass compass, that still has some of the original paper card intact...

I love my Sunray x-5 for snoopin' around old iron!
I used the X-1 probe a lot too, it's really great but I tell you,I'd like a dollar for every time I forgot to switch the box switch back to coil!!!

When I get my photos re-sized,and some typing done I'll do a post folks.

Hi Diggingfix,
the house is one of two on the 17,000 acre property.
My daughter and son in-law live in it as the managers residence...
He is the manager of the property which was first settled back in 1830.
They have bought their own home in town now, so I'm not sure about what my future chances are in respect to detecting.
Throughout the property there are the ruins of various home/cabin sites of past workers, some are only visible as a few scattered handmade bricks.
There are still brick floors to be found as well.
Here's a couple of pics of what I mean.

Here's an old tree to show how old the place is Digginfix...
