Lot's of junk. Not alot of adults gettin in the big lake yet. Inland lakes are boiling hot, temps have been 100+ past few hunts.

This was an unexpected water find!

Here's the ring cleaned up
DSCN0436.jpg

Took it to a major diamond retailer to see if there was a chance it's real. They steam cleaned it and checked it out under they're microscopes/etc. The guy walked back after awhile and said "Well, I'll give you twenty bucks for it"

I'm thinking ...another dang cz! with 20 baby cz's!!!

Then he started talking about it being the nicest heart cut REAL diamond he's ever seen, during his whole career in diamond sales

....and about the 14kt gold

....and about how it has to be a custom made ring

And "By the way, congratulations on the excellent find, based on the diamond itself, don't be suprised when it appraises in the thousands of dollars!"

:extrahappy:

Beautiful ring, congrats

Congrats!! I would suggest buying a Diamond Tester, they are less then $30 on the big A site. Also, if you don't already have one, a jeweler's scope and a digital scale. You can get all 3 for under $50. My best investment since a sand scoop. I would definitively get a second opinion.

That's nice!!!!!...Are u diving?....Big Lake?...Michigan??Cleaned up those lake bottoms good..some heavy stuff..was the hitch at a ramp?Good Luck HH

Man, how in the world did you manage to find a pair of sunglasses in decent shape?!? :lmfao: Nice ring, I would definitely be doing the Snoopy dance on that one!

No diving yet, had planned to dive one spot the other morning, but had to postpone until a later date. Big lake = michigan, IL IN & MI shores. Both the anchor and the hitch were found on inland lake sandbar type areas.

Cursed I guess, I filled a bucket with sunglasses the past two seasons and it's looking to be the same this year, I'd much rather find gold in any shape.

First appraisal is supposed to be done monday!......

What no storage war question...... like WHATS IT WORTH? You can tell thats an expensive ring, but i am surprised it wasnt marked.

Sunglasses in MIchigan seem to be a dime a dozen. I find so many nice pair of Ray Ban's, Oakleys, Prada's and others its crazy. Also a TON that say CHINA on them. As long as they drop deep they don't end up as foot or propeller bait.

Congrats on your finds and hope more gold will slide into your scoop.

Thanks for posting
