Some oldies. The one second from the right is what I cut my teeth on 44 years ago.

- - an escapee from a lamp factory! Bill, you crack me up old pal. :bouncy:

But all is not lost to you or any seeking after nostalgic detecting. Here is just the thing for you old buddy:

Get this and you can walk, again, down memory lane.

Another cool old add!:clapping:Really neat. It's interesting to see the model that you started out with, Uncle Willy.:detecting:Thanks for sharing:wiggle:

Hey, dahut, I clicked on that add link that you included. No bull, that is THE style of mine detector that I originally trained with back in the eighties as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army. I forget the model number designation(nomenclature), but man, that's the one. THANK YOU FOR SHARING. That is a blast from the past for me. I have absolutely no intention of buying that mine detector off of e-bay, but, word to the wise, if anyone out there is planning on getting one, good luck on getting batteries for it. Haven't been produced in years.

Thanks again guys!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

They have a new detector for the Military. Don't know if it's in production yet but it displays a 3-D image of what's in the ground. Be great to have that on a detector.

Bill

Yeah that's an old Metrotech, the primo detector of its day. They are still in business but only make commercial detectors now.
