It was a Bermudaful Morning and I had to heed the call of Mother Ocean so after a nice breakfast on the patio, I slipped into my wetsuit, grabbed my gear and headed for Daniels Head Park.
The temperature was in the low 70's so I wore a hunting jacket with mesh pockets for my finds and dive boots to keep the 67 F water from chilling my bones.
Not a soul at the park which is right beside the only eco-resort in Bermuda and is also the site of the Canadian Navy's now abandoned Submarine Listening Base. There was a thick cable that ran from Daniels Head out into the deep ocean which the Canadians used to monitor submarines all over the Atlantic Ocean during the cold war.

The Sargasso Seaweed was piled into the beach and the shallows at the park beach and it had been there for a while from the smell of it.

I did a quick spin that was a skunk unless you count a lone bubble penny before deciding to head next door to the 9 Beaches Eco-Resort.

9 Beaches just closed for the season as the accommodations are tent cabins set up on pilings over the ocean and they aren't heated. Being eco-friendly is one thing but paying $300/night to freeze your butt off in a tent, while a winter gale shakes the pilings under your bed isn't everyones idea of a nice vacation.
After 3 hours of working the mine and the lane I was ready for some lunch. I didn't land any gold today but I did pick up 2 silver rings and an old silver quarter that is from the 1940's but I can't make out the last #. $4.60 in clad and a few oddities made for an acceptable hunt, those Eco-Folks don't wear the Good Stuff like the folks at Cambridge Beaches across the bay, that's 18k or better!

I was swinging the Whites Dually today so I should go back and work the shoreline again with the Excal as the beach is very trashy for an Eco-Resort!
Cheers,
BDA
