Sorry to ask a dumb question..... Sunray X-1 Probe

Mojave

New member
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Explorer SE and Sunray X-1 probe and I suddenly became confused while looking at a picture of the probe online.

How does it connect to the actual explorer?

In all the pictures I've seen, the coil connects into the front of the control box and another cable connects from the box to the actual probe. I don't see anything connecting to the actual explorer display box. Are they leaving this disconnected just for the picture, or am I not seeing something?

The wire that connect to the control box is in the upper shaft like one would be without the X1 probe. Minelab designed the cable to run into the upper shaft so it don't get snagged on anything and if a person didn't have a probe you would see no cable on the outside at all.
