You you launched some great discussions and woke up this forum. I have not seen this much discussion of Explorer settings in a long while and I'm heading out to try some of them in about an hour.
But Bob this is the internet, you have to understand that its incredibly easy to post something and have people take it the wrong way and also people can sometimes be much ruder than they would ever dare to be in person. These days I try to let it roll in one ear and out the other and if someone posts something rude I just respond with smiley faces. Well unless they start badmouthing Fords then I might have to take measures!!!

Your posts are fine and people will learn about there machines even before they BUY them from your type of posts !
I Believe some people may have taken your post about Missing the point of Dicovery in detsting the wrong way Like maybe you didn't want to give up what really made the machine work right!
And if they took it that way they are wrong!
You where right on the Button about the JOYS of digging up your first Anything is GREAT BUT!!!
People see GREAT post of finds from People who KNOW how to Hunt and Where to hunt that have DONE there Home work To find the sights to hunt and They think All I have to do is BUY the Same machine and Go out One time a week for 2 Hours and I will be finding 20 Silver coins a DAY in NO time !
That is WRONG and WE know this and they don't
BUT they learn real fast that if the Time is not Spent in the Field Putting Hundreds of Hours of Trial and Error into this Hobby THOSE results will never Happen!
BOB you are like Me I have Hunted for over 30 years and have ENJOYED Every Second I have Swung the coil !
EXEPT when being asked to Leave a Town Square Or sidewalk Or any other Place that was Producing Silver by the Handsfull!
So STAY around and Grow some Duck feathers on your Back and let it all just ROLL of like you have in the past when you where Run out of that Honey Hole, You Like me I am sure Got in your Truck and Moved to the Next Spot!!!!
