my fisher sounds like the speaker is cutting in and out not sure if it is just chatter

anybody help me out

I just picked it up used

have found four coins have started using 2F for tones to cut out all the chatter

You sound kind of new to detecting, your detector will only respond on a metal target with coil in motion or the target moving in front of the coil. I would lay the detector on a table wooden would be best let the coil hing over the edge. Take watches and rings off and wave quarter in front of the coil, and see if it sounds off with each sweep of the coin.

Try that and see if that helps and we can go from there.

Need to know if you are experienced or new to detecting.

pretty new only a month in started with a bounty hunter discovery 2200

could not pass up the deal for this F70

Another suggestion is set it up on the factory presets and run in that mode for awhile and see what happens, if it smooths out then you know the detector is working right. It takes awhile to learn a new machine especially if you've just started , take your time and grow slowly from the factory settings.

The above suggestions are great. Also, even if it turns out to be the speaker I think using headphones would be a good workaround (and probably preferable to using the external speaker anyway).

Good luck and HH

reset to factory settings and will try it out tomorrow and let you guys know how it goes

I have a cheap set of headphones and will try those as well

Thanks for the input looking forward to learning this machine

just watched a video where a guy was running his f75 with 0 disc and 0 sensitivity and still getting signals anyone tried this

Yep, works great and been doing it a very long time. Works great in the trash and the iron trash especially with the 5" coil and the little football coil. Try it you will like it. HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

My thoughts exactly.

TinFoil does the F75 DST have a True, unfiltered, all metal circuit or is the Discrim. still running in the background? Thanks for your time.

Yes it is wide open at 0 Dis. If the area is giving you some noise crank up the Dis to 3 to 5 if you are running high sen. . You can run a little Positive offset in all metal on your ground balance3 to 5 numbers will make the machine a little more sen. to the gold rings in Dis. Opposite for neg.. G/B 3to5 numbers neg. will help with noise. If still noisy with high sen go to all metal and drop your threshold down to no more then -3. I have to do that sometimes in my area. Most of the time my machine F75 is very very quite. You do have to play around in your area to get your machine right but that is some places on the machine that you do it at. I run boost mode maybe 50% of the time but, I am a Iron and trash hunter and most of the time 90% I am hunting Rings. Hope this helps. HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

Ha, LOL. You guys don't know how rusty I am. but , I am. Thanks for the confidence though guys. HH Jerry aka Tinfoil
