sovereign elite help

does anyone know if there are books or video's that can help me lean how to metal detect? i received the sovereign elite for Christmas a while back and thought i would give it a try. i would like to find a video or book specific to my metal detector. but if non is available then general introduction and instruction's video or books will do. thanks frank

David at Dixie Metal Detectors has some books on detecting. His banner is at the top of the forum.

Don't think you will find anything specific to the Elite.

If you contact him, I think he may be able to come up with something to suit your purposes well.

You have a good detector , but it's gonna take some learning.

hi , i tried getting a good pix of the face plate of the control panel of an elite but couldnt seem to find one. just wanted to see the differance between the elite and GT. after you read the manual really good and get the detector outside and then read the manual good again and keep coming back to this forum youll start getting the hang of it. its a good idea to get a meter for it if you dont have one cause its good to have all the props you can. i just sold my meter and got a good deal on a patroit meter. been reading the manual and its a pretty interesting meter. just hope we get some nice weather soon or im going to go nuts.

Have you got cold and stayed cold? We have not had much snow or rain this winter or much severe cold.

Not much repeated deep freeze/thaw/precip/refreeze cycle like the last couple years. Ground has not been loaded up with deep ice. Expecting plugs to be more solid and iron to talk a little less when spring gets here.

The skeeters we had in upper Mich put on long underwear and stayed year round.

Didn't see any deer flies last year. Think the skeeters ate them.
That reminds me.....must check my supply of deep woods off.

Andy Sabisch wrote two excellent books on Sovereign/Excalibur detectors. Vol 1 is about beach & shallow water hunting & Volume 2 is about finding coins etc. Find him on the www or buy direct of him on ebay -username itcert


LOL, you own a great detector, last week i found a $750AU diamond ring with mine!Sdee the pic, found all that in a couple of hours at the beach!!
