I got up with my buddy today and went back to the old park where we have been finding plenty of wheat pennies,
and recently started to find some silver coins.
I found the 1919 canadian cent after about the first 10 minutes of detecting and this was my first find of the day.
Shortly after I got the 1919 merc. dime and sometime later I found a 1927 wheat penny and a 1935 merc. dime in the same hole.
I ended up with 9 wheat pennies, two silver dimes, and the canadian cent along with some modern coins.
I am amazed at the number of wheat pennies we have found at this site, but only 5 silver coins so far although I'm not complaining.
So far I have found 70 wheat pennies, 3 Indian head cents, a buffalo nickel, a V nickel, 3 merc. dimes, and a silver washington quarter at this site.
It sure is nice to hear those soft signals while swinging the Sovereign and knowing that it is a deep coin.
Thanks for looking,
Felix
