I took my new (2nd hand) Sov GT out for a test run today on a beach that was cut by Cyclone Yasi just over a month ago. It didn't take long until I was swinging and getting used to the waoowwww waowwww of the Sov GT. First find was a bullet that I think might be WW2 era (we had lots of soldiers stationed in our city of Townsville Australia during WW2). I am hoping someone here could ID the bullet.
Anyway, still learning the sound of the GT when it went off big time! I thought ok big sound, high pitch must be a can (I also swing the X-Terra 705). Anyway I dug the sand and not more than 3 inches deep was this B-E-A-Utiful 1918 King George V Florin (two shillings). For our non-Aussie friends on this forum, this coin is 92.5 silver. Yeah baby! At Uncirculated condition it's worth about $2000. At its condition... well about $15
Also got a couple of $2 coins, a 1961 sixpence (50% silver), sinkers and some junk.
All in all a terrific first day out with the Sov GT!. I love this machine!
Cheers
